Rachel Buchanan found her outlet through a microphone.
A life-long fan of music, participating in choirs and musicals throughout her school career, an interest in broadcasting led her to Spring Arbor University, where she worked at the college's radio station, Home.FM.
"It gave me an opportunity to have a voice," Rachel says. "Plus my obnoxious love for music and art."
Two days after her college graduation, she was handed a full-time job at the radio station and found her home in Jackson.
At Home.FM, Rachel says she enjoys promoting the positive aspects of Jackson, connecting people, and being a part of the community's growth. Through the station, she stays connected with the arts and cultural happenings in town, and with the music scene - both locally and nationally.
"We play songs you can recognize," Rachel says. "The music is varied and related to everyone."
Rachel's husband, David, and her kids are all creative. She expresses her musical creativity by singing loudly in the car loudly and playing her dulcimer.
"Music is all around me, all the time."
